Swedish & Rainbow weekend.

Had a pretty bz weekend... coz I had been wanted to try my hands on some Swedish meatballs.. and here's the result.. with some soft and buttery baked potatoes.. I was pretty happy with the results coz even my fussy boy walloped everything!

On top of that.. baked something 'colorful' to end the weekend..
Not too bad.. it has strawberry taste in 1 layer.. chocolate in another... pandan and vanilla.. An explosion of taste in 1 mouthful!!
Kids loves this Chiffon cake coz it's colorful!!


That's not it!! I managed to buy some cheap and nice fresh blueberries (that doesn't come by very often... and baked blueberry muffins with butter and almond toppings... And it taste lovely with the buttery taste.. a tang of sourness fresh blueberries with a hint of sweetness...
UNFORTUNATELY... I forgot to take pictures of it... Oh well... next time then.

Suddenly had the urge for some nice hot 'wobbly in the center' Egg tarts over the weekend so made a batch of it courtesy of my sister's nice and easy recipe...

So yummy with a steaming cuppa hot tea.... Mmmmmm.....

Shanghai Mooncake

Since Mooncake festival is around the corner.. thought I try my hands on some of these...
Am not really a mooncake fan... but since this is slightly different from the normal baked or ping pei mooncakes...why not...
This Shanghai Mooncake has a different kind of skin... it's like pastry skin.. which sorta balance out the sweetness of the lotus paste...
So here it is... Shanghai mooncake with pure lotus paste and it's bite size too! :D not the huge ones where you would feel 'jai' just by looking at it.. Nice eh!

Final Fantasy

Did this FF cake last week... Honestly the last time I 'played' FF was like maybe 7 - 8 years ago... and it was FF I or II or maybe just III... and now... they have XIII... take about a huge gap huh...
So had to do a bit of research on FF and they have so many new characters.. and so much more complicated... *Confused*...

Anyway... luckily.. I managed to whipped out something.. even though I was contemplating to have a black base or a blue base...
And finally the blue base won... with Moist Chocolate Cake inside requested from a customer that had my Chocolate cake before...

Smallie's Day

My son is so into Transformers now.. that he breathes.. eats and sleeps Transformers at the moment...
He has been requesting me to bake him a Transformers cake for a while now.. so finally on his big day... 08.08 - I baked him one...

Well.. I cheated.. coz I didn't exactly do a 3D Bumblebee robot (He calls himself Bumblebee!!) for him.. I did a simple Autobots logo on a simple Chocolate Moist Cake for him...

Sigh.. What to do.. His mummy is simply plain lazy... I promise to do better next year BumbleBee :)

Strawberry Shortcake

Strawberry Shortcake for a lovely Dashayne who celebrated her 5th birthday last Saturday... The cake itself is made from fresh strawberry pureed into perfection.. Yumm.... the Strawberry aroma was wonderful when I took it out from the oven.

This colorful 'Barney, BJ & BabyBop Cake is specially made for sweet Miriam who just celebrated her 2 years old Birthday last Sat.
The cake is my Signature Chocolate Moist cake frost with chocolate ganache before covered with a thick layer of yellow fondant.

P.S - I've still yet to find out if there's any kid out there that doesn't like Barney & friends.. lols!

Mad about Chocolates

Here's a very very moist chocolate cake covered with thick chocolate ganache... Mmmm... sounds heavenly for chocolate lovers... and I've add on some fresh and tangy strawberries... just to balance up the overall sweetness and also to add on a bit of colors..

This customer told me... she's ok with a simple design as long as it's all chocolate chocolate and more chocolates!!

Kurt is absolutely 'into' Lightning McQueen.. according to his mummy, Nicole. For this fact, Nicole requested for a 3D Lightning McQueen Cake and cupcakes for her lovely 3 year old Kurt's Birthday.. she said.. Kurt was totally mesmerized by the cake and cupcakes when he first saw it...
Aah! As always.. it gives me great satisfaction to know that I've made the 'Birthday Boy's day... :)
And in addition to that, I've NEVER met anyone who didn't like Chocolate Moist Cake which taste like Chocolate Mud Cake... Hehehehe!!

The design can be better... but that's what the instructor told us to do... can't argue with the teacher right ??.. Ah well... No worries... can ALWAYS change the design to whatever we want now that we have the main book structure...

It's a WORD world out there!

This customer ordered a Pingu Cake for his son's birthday last year... and this year.. he ordered another cake from me... And this time he requested for WORD WORLD theme... as his son loves the Word World characters... I paused for a bit... my brain busy analysing the 'detailness' of the characters.... and then went .... Errr... ok....

It wasn't easy as the characters required more detailed work... Anyhow... here it is.... Its a chocolate peanut butter cake.. smells heavenly when I took out from the oven...

And the verdict was... The kids love it!! Yay!!!
